and she did not want to go out on her own terms, so she decided to shelve her retirement plans.
Sania Mirza Said, I no longer prioritize pushing my body to the edge every single day because priorities change.
In 2009, Mirza also won the Australian Open mixed doubles title with Mahesh Bhupathi, but she has yet to confirm if she will be competing in the same category at the Australian Open in 2023.
As of April 2015, there was only one doubles player ranked number one in the WTA Rankings from April 2015 to January 2017.
On the other hand, Sania Mirza is the only woman to have won a WTA singles title in her hometown of Hyderabad in 2005.
After retiring in Dubai, Sania Mirza will devote herself to academics. Mirza and her husband Shoaib Malik have lived there for more than a decade.
In spite of the fact that Sania had originally decided to retire at the end of last season, she changed her mind after an elbow injury forced her to withdraw from the 2022 US Open and force her to end the season in August.
Having won a Tennis WTA title for the first time in her career, she is the first Indian woman to do so.
